Rental Agreement & Curation Policy

The rental agreement

Every hire on Circa 01 is an agreement between the lender and the renter, facilitated by Circa. The renter agrees to take reasonable care of the piece, wear it for the booked occasion only, and return it clean and on time. The lender agrees the piece is authentic, accurately represented and of wearable standard for the booked dates.

Care and return

Pieces must not be washed, altered or repaired by the renter. Standard dry-cleaning after wear is the lender's responsibility and is reflected in the hire price. Returns are due by 5:00 PM Melbourne time on the return date; a 24-hour grace period applies before late fees accrue at 150% of the daily rate, capped at the replacement value.

Damage and loss

Pre-dispatch condition videos are recorded for every dispatch so that any damage claim can be compared against the piece's condition on arrival. If a piece is damaged beyond normal wear, lost or not returned, Circa may charge the renter's vaulted card up to the piece's replacement value after reviewing the evidence from both sides.

Curation & authenticity terms

By submitting, you agree to the Circa Curation & Authenticity Terms: Circa reserves the right to approve, reject, or delist any piece at our sole discretion. While Circa actively reviews submissions to maintain quality and curation standards, lenders remain legally responsible for ensuring all listed garments are authentic, accurately represented, and of wearable standard.

What we don't list

Circa 01 is a curated marketplace. Fast-fashion and counterfeit pieces are not accepted, and listings that misrepresent a designer, size or condition are declined or removed. Repeated breaches may result in account suspension.

Disputes

If a renter reports an issue on arrival, report it through the order before wearing the piece. Claims are reviewed by the Circa team using the pre-dispatch video, photos and messages from both sides, and outcomes are recorded in the order history.
